Directory Of Consumer Security Cameras

Author: John Scanlan, Published on Aug 16, 2017

The consumer camera segment continues to grow, with new startups and models from existing players released seemingly every month. In this report we have collected most common / popular models for reference, including links to over 20 models tested by IPVM.

This list covers the simplest definition of consumer cameras, those cameras that are available to the general public via retail, work as a standalone device (or at most with an included hub), and would be suitable for a residential or small business environment. Many consumers also used brand name low cost models with similar functionality, such as Dahua or Hikvision, but those are excluded here.

Consumer Camera Quick Reference Chart:

The chart below summarizes these cameras, covering pricing, key specs, and features.
