Who Should We Interview? Expanding Our Series Of Executive Interviews

Next year, we plan to do even more executive interviews, a series that IPVM expanded greatly this year.

Links to some interviews, alphabetically, for context:

There's quite a number more and we'll be putting together a dedicated page with all aggregated.

The problem I've had with conventional executive interviews is they tend to be shallow and not really interviews, more like thinly veiled press releases organized in a Q&A format.

I've been happy that our interviews ask hard and direct questions while allowing executives to share their perspectives. And our interview reports tend to be quite long so they provide deeper context about their approach.

It balances well our critical and investigative reporting by allowing us and our readers to understand where executives are coming from.

This year, we have done this in a fairly uncoordinated manner, so if we have not reached out to specific companies, it's not a strategic decision as much as we have been feeling out how and who to do interviews with.

We are trying to focus on companies that are at least one of the following - different, growing and/or large.

If you are interested in doing an interview with us, please email info@ipvm.com to discuss.

If you have questions on how we are doing this, suggestions for improvements, etc. let us know.

I like the CTO interviews and would maybe suggest drilling down a level to VPs or Directors of Product or Product Marketing. Definitely there's exceptions, but I think they can provide a level of product vision and insight you don't get from the CEO/CRO group.

I think you should focus also on interviewing security integrators; they are the most fundamental component of the industry in general. They are the ones in closed contact to the customer, and use different technologies to provide total solutions to the costumers' challenges.
