Maybe we should rename this thread from "Worst Camera Manufacturers" to "Irrelevant Camera Manufacturers". I'd almost forgotten iPro, Arecont and Mobotix existed. Since integrators can't use Hikua in many applications in the US they are scaling back their workforce. All of these companies repeating the same fundamental management mistakes YoY so you can expect them to remain on the irrelevant list. And don't give iPro the excuse that these are "challenges" because they "just became independent" because the complaints are the same as when Panasonic owned them years ago.
the complaints are the same as when Panasonic owned them years ago.
As a point of fact, Panasonic never made this list in over a decade, so the complaints are more now than before. Of course, whether this is old Panasonic fault or transition to new "iPro" can be debated.
These days, the list is dominated by companies on the decline but when we first started Arecont was growing very fast. I even recall Arecont management arguing that their sales growth disproved integrator's complaints.
whether this is old Panasonic fault or transition to new "iPro" can be debated.
Debate away. iPro has been independent from Panasonic since October of 2019, so iPro getting worse is 100% on iPro. Panasonic couldn't distance themselves fast enough from iPro after being exposed by IPVM for lying about using Hisilicon. The only thing remaining from the Panasonic days is the crappy management that was lying about the NDAA issues. iPro has controlled the media spin well on the split, but the company getting worse has been all on ipro.
when we first started Arecont was growing very fast.
Arecont held the patent on multi-sensors, so of course they grew. At the time, it was genius so we put up with the failure rate and high bandwidth. When the patent expired the company was relegated to irrelevancy.

Arecont held the patent on multi-sensors, so of course they grew.
This was before that. I remember this very clearly because it was in the first few years of IPVM and Arecont was growing rapidly just with those single imager oddly shaped cameras and the problems were with them, even before any multi-imagers.
