OpenEye Takes Aim At Exacq

Published Mar 23, 2017 15:26 PM

First Milestone targeted Exacq with a takeover offer, and now OpenEye is gunning for them with an offer to swap out Exacq for their cloud-managed VMS. They are offering a 'conversion program', where Exacq users can trade in recorders or software licenses for a discount on equivalent OpenEye products.

In this report we provide details of OpenEye's trade-in program, and analyze its fairness, cost-effectiveness and potential impact.

I saw this separately and was intrigued by it. I've been intrigued by OpenEye for quite some time, and while I haven't had a great application for it, I have a few projects coming up that I may bring them in for a shot at.

It's never OK for a company to make outright false claims, and I didn't see OpenEye doing that here. But, it's definitely eye-catching to see someone attacking a "major" player in the market, so it's getting them some attention either way.

it's definitely eye-catching

Our readership numbers support that. For example we did an OpenEye profile post 7 months ago that had weak readership. This post 'against' Exacq will get double the reads and it certainly has to do with people being interested in Exacq and how another company is positioning itself against them.

We have used their units and been quite happy with how they work.  I also look at the overall company and who we do business with.  These guys are class acts and easy to work with, not to mention a US company that is easy to get a hold of.

Harrison, you have good eyesight! I never notice those LinkedIn text ads.

I have seen though OpenEye doing a campaign on LinkedIn. They are also using the bigger news feed ads.
