Lower Cost Video Integration With Intrusion Panels

Does anyone know of a system that can integrate video with intrusion with out the cost going through the roof. We sell Alarm.com and they do integrate the 2 but the cost goes up pretty fast and the camera quality isnt great. We have stopped selling intrusion almost completely because everyone wants cameras, good for us since we sell them too, but Im looking for a way to merge the 2 with out just installing 2 separate systems.

In reading this, have you looked at Bosch Intrusion? (See our tests: Bosch G-Series Intrusion TestedBosch B-Series Intrusion Tested)

In those platforms, integration between the panel and Bosch's VMS is free and the integration is tight enough to manage both platforms from one interface. ONVIF is supported by Bosch VMS, so camera options really open up.

Beyond that, Honeywell's Total Connect 2.0 is similar to ADC (see: Alarm.com Vs. Honeywell Total Connect Shootout) but the camera choice is going to be similarly limited.

Other platforms, like DMP's Virtual Keypad also combine the two platforms, but you have to first be a DMP dealer to sell that product.

I did read the Bosch review. Big draw back was the programming difficulty. Thats the drag with the NEO which I have used a couple times, if you dont do it a lot its not intuitive at all

I have no experience with this product/service but it sounds camera agnostic and central station friendly based on their website marketing & videos.  May be worth a deeper dive:  CHeKT

DMP does some video integration. Their camera options are pretty limited, but the prices are pretty good for a basic, simple system

I looked into DMP at one time and they are far from inexpensive and you have to see a lot to get a dealership.

Thank you for your input though

Ok so I have an idea to find an NVR that could be programmed to send emails to the central station only if

there is an alarm input AND a video event.

Then I could wire an input from a keypad to the NVR, that would be the arm/disarm. Now when "armed" and you get a video event the central station would get the email. If the input is low, "disarmed" and there were an event no email would be sent.

Anyone???

The logic here makes sense, but your central station might integrate with the NVR using software that ignores your email rule.  A sure way of getting an answer is running this by your central station to see if they support video verification/ video monitoring like this.

The CHeKT Bridge is an appliance installed at the protected premise that bridges any alarm panel with any ONVIF compliant camera or recorder. It is also integrated with Bold, Dice, Stages Microkey, and later this month MAStermind so sending signals into the vast majority of central station is simple. The Bridge can be installed and configured in less than 30 minutes using only a cellphone. Once installed, it can deliver video to the central station in less than 5 seconds showing the operator exactly what caused the alarm to occur. Monthly service for four cameras and four detector is 4.99 per month. www.CHeKT.com
