Lockin's website, which took me a few minutes to find, says they are based in Singapore, and a brand of Yunding Tech, which also created Loock. Not sure if Xiaomi is OEMing it or if there's a relationship between the brands. I haven't looked at it too hard.
Conceptually, it seems to be a knock-off of August. All their products mimick the August lineup in some way, shape, or semi-form.
The lock...same as August but more squared/rectangular. Even has almost the same insert plate (squared vs rounded) that is used to mount the smart lock on the secure side/thumb turn side. Lock (thumb-turn side) looks the same except squared. They have the same concept with the external/optional keypad. They even have the "bridge" device...August calls it the "Connect Bridge," Wyze calls it the "WiFi Bridge". They also have a door position sensor, JUST LIKE AUGUST! Disruptive or just a blatant copy, thoughts?
Wyze sent this earlier saying they've missed the expected ship date for Wyze Lock until Jan 2020:
We are contacting them on this and for clarity on the payment situation for the early orders (our bank has already made payment for this now delayed order).
Mine will be here today. Details to follow in the next day or two. Will interesting to see how forgiving it is with the deadbolt and any preload the door has. I will most likely have to file off some of the plate on the door frame so the lock will be able to move the deadbolt into position. Warped door I keep neglecting to fix.
I'm curious about the deadbolt, as well. I recently replaced Kwikset Z-Wave bolts on my house with Schlage (which is long, stupid story) and discovered the Schlage uses nicely tapered bolts, so door alignment issues are reduced. Picture of mine from the top:
This is a massive improvement over the Kwiksets. My front door lock used to struggle because it's old and out of alignment and I'm not trying to take a 100 year old door off the hinges to fix it myself. With the tapered bolt, no problem. Batteries last longer, as well, because it doesn't have to crank as hard.
Thanks Ethan now I may have to spend even more money. 😉 Mine is 15 years old. Actually that taper may help. Problem with my door is if I don't through the deadbolt then the weather stripping doesn't seal good. I could just get a new door all together and then the $90 lock will turn into $1000. I will know more tonight. Thanks for the input.
Where did you get the tapered bolt at other than online?

Undisclosed Manufacturer #2
Brian, I tried to research that company they worked with to create the lock "lockin" as snapped below. Couldn't find anything directly about them.
I can only presume it is a division of "Xiaomi LOOCK" ??
