Kind of impressive how Longse is handling things... They know their target market and are chipping away as HikVision/Dahua lose steam.
Longse USA Profile
In September 2017, Longse bought and opened their USA office.
As one of the largest South China surveillance manufacturers, they have previously been covered for spam email marketing, cloning Hikvision's embedded user interface and login screens, and copying Video Insight and Milestone for their own free VMS.
Now, led by US CEO Horae Choi and US Sales Manager Daniel Mik [update: Mik left Longse in August 2019], Longse USA has been operating for about a year out of California. We spoke with Daniel Mik to see what Longse has been doing, whether they had made any changes to their strategy, and to address their previous issues.

Related, I give them credit for not becoming an "AI" or facial recognition company. They may well save themselves some pain.
Related, I give them credit for not becoming an "AI" or facial recognition company.
Though they are definitely flirting with the idea:
Notice the advanced detection of “OVEN”, not to mention “GEORGE BUSH”.
Warning, although the video is technically in English, you may be better off reading the subtitles. Even if you don’t know Spanish ;)
Related: For the longest time though they had "Longse, an IOT company" in all of their marketing material. Ask any of their staff what IOT meant and they were clueless.
...are chipping away as HikVision/Dahua lose steam.
At the end of the day though aren’t they all in the same boat, literally and figuratively?
Longse’s just not on the radar, yet.
great article.
They are working on their GUI, thats good. If they can make a decently working and simple GUI, they will substantially grow and be a fair player here.
I'm perplexed that they would use 10 engineers to make a GUI. I really like to understand how this is possible when it's kind of a job for one or two competent developers.
I think I just answered it myself.
Honestly, one amateur american web coder could make a better gui than most chinese surveillance manufacturers.
Perhaps putting too many engineerw on one task is counter productive.
Thank you for the report and great analysis. As we are trying to go back to basics as a CCTV manufacture and learning from our past mistakes, sticking well into our markets and listening to their concerns-- staying away from AI gives us time and capitol to focus on our overall quality and GUI.
what is their email address?
I want to send them about 5000 messages.
I think it was in 2015, we installed about 200 of their cameras for a prestigious hotel. Cameras kept randomly restarting on their own and losing their settings, including IP addresses. It was a nightmare.
For that particular project they actually admitted it was their mistake and gave us 200 brand new cameras free of charge!
Since then, I think they have improved in terms of IP camera quality.
Their low cost AHD cameras are great though. Practically 0% failure rate.
We has cooperated with Longse for many years, they has good products, although has little problem sometimes, but they can solve it vey qucikly.
Longse USA updates:
Daniel Mik, USA National Sales Manager has left.
Longse imports for the past 10 months, with top customers:
Weirdly, some SEO spammer wants us to add a link to his page for email spam:
Off to say the least that they want to be associated with the email spam of Longse. We don't do such link requests / offers, etc.
