Hikvision Faces Human Rights Abuse Criticism In Canada, Denmark, UK, EU
Hikvision is facing growing criticism over its human rights abuse record from the halls of the UK and EU Parliaments to a Danish pension fund and Canadian politics.
Ever since the US government blacklisted Hikvision over its Xinjiang operations in October 2019, Hikvision continues to operate huge Xinjiang police projects and has failed to disclose a long-promised human rights review, resulting in the Norway Council of Ethics finding Hikvision human rights abuses to be 'ongoing'
And now Hikvision is facing rising pressure outside the US, presenting a long-term risk that other governments eventually take up similar actions as the US government took against the firm.
