Good product - but configuring a simple alarm for an input not tied to a door object that cannot be acknowledged until the condition (circuit trouble or activation) clears is quite complicated.

For an end user I see these 'negative' comments as positive for me. It shows they dont want every Joe Snuffy on the block hawking their product. Its not a good fit for SMBs, its geared toward enterprise, and as such, they need dealers that can take that challenge.

That is true to a point. But it could have the side effect of limiting your choices of integrators. And if they have one in a region that has lost their sense of service and proficiency, it can be hard for a new integrator to come in and fill that hole made by the under-performing integrator. We've seen some customers want to remove well known "top tier" brand products because of bad service from integrators, and the customer could not find many nearby alternatives.

Too Arrogant / Cocky

It would be interesting to see what region these comments are from.  I wonder if it's all the same rep.  I have also experienced this and am not one of the commenters.  I would also add aloof to the description.

I found interesting what appears to be a wide gap between "easy to configure and support" and "too complex". Are the differences between user interface and configuration interface? Is it smaller dealer impressions vs larger dealer impressions?

Without a doubt expensive as hell, but you get what you pay for and they’re on the leading edge for innovation far beyond VMS, Access etc...for example; evidence management, identify management, cyber security, data science and machine learning. It’s become more of a business system then a security system. We’re a enterprise-class end user with a national footprint (10K staff, 100 offices) and biggest problem we face is finding qualified vendors to install/support the product because they need to maintain certification to access Genetec tech support. That said, this makes sense because if you don’t know what you’re doing and kicking around in the backend...bad things happen. To realize the full potential of this product and see your ROI, end-users and vendors need to be committed to it and not fly-by-night.
