US Clearview AI Database "Collected Illegally" Declares EU Parliament, Clearview AI Disputes

Published Oct 14, 2021 15:42 PM

The European Parliament singled out Clearview AI in a resolution on artificial intelligence last week, declaring that the US company's database was "collected illegally." However, Clearview AI's CEO disputed that in a statement to IPVM.

Clearview AI already faces wide legal challenges in the US and now last week's non-legally binding resolution may portend future legal challenges in the EU, where the same parliamentarians who approved last week's resolution are already working on a legally binding Artificial Intelligence Act.
