European Parliament Calls for Sweeping AI Curbs, Police Facial Recognition Ban

The European Parliament adopted a sweeping resolution last week, calling for bans on law enforcement use of closed/proprietary AI systems, a ban on mass biometric data collection in public spaces, a moratorium on new facial recognition deployments, and a ban on PRC-style social credit systems.
