Dahua 4K HD Analog Cameras Announced

Published Feb 23, 2017 14:25 PM

HD analog has been gaining popularity (even if Axis hopes otherwise).

Last year, HD analog's max resolution doubled from 1080p to 4MP (see our 4MP HD analog test).

Now, HD analog is poised to double resolution again, to 4K.

We have technical details on Dahua's HD analog 4K camera, estimated pricing, and what it means for the industry, in this report.

$1,000 seems very high when you can get a 4K IP camera for around $800. This is appealing. We don't do a lot of HD analog but we have a lot of analog systems out there and we upgrade a few a year.

Read: Street price, MSRP.  Dealer price will be substantially less.

Corrrction, street price should be closer to that of today's 8MP IP cameras.

Yeah, I definitely can't post what we can sell the incoming 8MP h.265 IP cams for.

You would think that a guy selling them off the street would have lower overhead and a lower price.
