Axis 360 Panoramic Released

By: Ethan Ace, Published on Oct 13, 2015

Last year, Axis entered the multi-imager camera market but, unfortunately, the only way to get it was to mount it on top of an Axis PTZ.

Now, 6 months after announcing a 180-degree 33MP multi-imager, Axis has rectified their initial multi-imager shortcoming, now releasing a 'solo' 360 multi-imager camera.

In this note, we look at its features, pricing, and competitive positioning compared to Arecont and Hikvision.

Axis should have released this camera with both options (operable with or without PTZ) from the start. The first model released, along with the requirement to own or buy a separate PTZ, caused mass confusion.
