The Wyze in Response Program, which includes the masks, started in 2020 so it would not affect 2019 reported revenue of $95 million.
However, we estimate that Wyze did at least $10 million in revenue, likely at significant profits, for selling masks in the past few months. This is based on import records that show three shipments since February 2020:
These are their heaviest shipments since COVID-19 began, and given a selling point of $29.99 at only ~0.4 lb per package, it is fair to estimate that figure. They are partnering with iHealth on the masks.
However, they still received 30+ other shipments over that period.
You are correct that this is likely significant for Wyze over these few months, but is it sustainable?
I have a box that has a couple of their light bulbs and a bunch of the door/window sensors that I have not even opened yet! That is how cheap all their stuff is. So cheap you can just forget about it. Of course, now that I remembered I have it thanks to this article I will be setting it all up today.
