Sony Favorability Results 2017

By: IPVM Team, Published on Feb 06, 2017

Sony is one of the largest brands in the world and a long term provider of both video surveillance imagers and cameras. But, like all incumbents, they have been challenged by the race to the bottom of the last few years. Indeed, just a few months ago, Sony decided that they would no longer go it alone, joining up with Bosch Security for Sony video surveillance.

In this report, continuing our favorability series, we share Sony's results, looking at the pros and cons and the outlook for the Sony / Bosch combination.

No way the Sony IPELA range lives long enough to see in 2019 in my opinion.

This is a way for the Japanese to phase it out, with a perceived dignity, and then have Bosch as a major customer for their Components division in manufacturing the Bosch branded line-up.

That is great analysis and I agree with you 100%. The reason it has perceived dignity is because they are matched up with a household name like Bosch. If they sold to a lesser known name I think it would be frowned upon. I agree how it makes sense long term for them to have a large company like Bosch continue to be their customer for however many more years.
