Milestone's favorability moderately strengthed, in new IPVM integrator statistics over their results from 2016.

While the industry has been engulfed in a trade war and key rival Exacq's favorability has declined sharply, Milestone has strengthened, as the results below show:

Last I heard about the Husky lines (from Miletone) was they either supported only RAID 5 (not good for surveillance) or RAID 10 (not cost/storage effective enough), and not RAID 6, and did not support connections to external storage. This was awhile back and I thought a major problem with using those systems. Anyone know if that is still true?

The M500 and M550A support RAID 6.  Unfortunately, those units appear to be end of sale in June according to the product comparison sheet.

Short answer: Because the increasing size of individual drives have made the odds of encountering an unrecoverable error during an increasingly lengthy rebuild increasingly likely.

Great product. It has served us well. Interconnecting sites throughout the world and bringing the video to one central location has changed the way we operate but there is still a lot room for improvement.

Milestone is a great product no doubt. We install and work on the system on a regular basis. My beef is they need to cut the amount of different models of the software they have. Get's really confusing at times especially when you are looking at the support models as well. As in another discussion I posted you must be on Corporate if you want to lock or keep video from being deleted and you can't add that feature to another version either.

I would comment that anyone who says Milestone is sitting on their laurels or hasn't made any improvements in the past 3-4 years hasn't looked very close.

They layout the roadmap for us to see, talk openly about what they're doing, and give us great support.

I agree Greg. In fact, I recently participated in testing of new unreleased client features and the direction they are going looks great! They are definitely working to improve all the time but I still stand by my statement that there is room for improvement... there always will be.
