More than 50 big booths are now available / empty at the planned ISC West October 2020 while the SIA Board has shifted away from its previous 'strong support'.

Because of the lack of a total refund we have notified Reed that we will downsize our stand to a 10x20 and not our typical 20x30. They have offered to allow the difference in funds to be used for 2021.
John, They have not fully described what our rate will be for a 10x20 but I assume it will be at published value and they will simply subtract the difference in cost between the two and apply a credit toward 2021..Considering we have already made a large deposit on 2021 as needed to secure the space it will be interesting to see what the credit does to lessen the remaining cost.
To my knowledge they are not offering a full credit to be applied to 2021, only the ability to downsize. If they did I would imagine a lot more light blue areas on the map above. I know that we would certainly take that deal.
On the bright side, there should be no problem getting premium hotel rooms. Also, every day of the show will be like Friday, where all the exhibitors just meet with each other because there are no attendees left.
"It is our plan at present to confirm whether GSX 2020 will take place live on or before 22 June. We believe this will provide our attendees and exhibitors with the notice they need to make arrangements for their participation. We will deliver an update on the status of GSX 2020 no later than 22 June. We, the ASIS International Global Board of Directors and HQ Team, appreciate your understanding as we make the decision that is right for our attendees, speakers, staff, exhibitors, and other stakeholders."
There has already been a rash of cancellations to GSX - they are allowing vendors to roll their investments to next year. The general consensus from side conversations with others is that all shows are done this year. Integrators will either not have budgets to travel, not willing to risk health and safety concerns of large crowds/travel, or be too busy from their dips playing catch up to travel. None of these outcomes would attract investments from manufacturers/distributors not to mention having their own concerns for the well being of their employees.
I completely understand and you are not alone with your decision. That said, I will submit your request to rollover and begin that process.
It takes a few days to get the process completed.
So far nothing but I hope for a positive answer. I got nothing against ISC or Reed, I just don't see it as a good business decision to do such show this year.
Dori - I reached out to Reed a few days ago regarding IPVM's booth. Reed has not responded with updated options (cancel, roll-over, credit). On April 14th I was told:
we are speaking to all our customers over the next couple of weeks and reviewing all requests with Senior Management. We’ll have an answer to you shortly.
That said, IPVM was removed from the show floor plan (when it was still viewable last week) without followup / notice.
We likely would not attend. Alot of companies have been doing a great job with online shows and even the reps are giving better attention to dealers these days.

The writing is on the wall... the show will be a bust or will be cancelled.

I don't think anyone is thinking about how Las Vegas itself will be changed by this - who will WANT to go to Vegas with all that's going on?

Do you think ISC and GSX is waiting to see who cancels first hoping to be the only show?

So does this mean all the products that were going to be on exhibit this year will actually be available to ship at the time of the show next year?

I'm still on the floor plan picture, I asked to roll 100% to 2021.I assume there are more like me so there are more free booths than you see here.
Also, it seems they locked the 2020 floor plan... you can't see it anymore.

Vaccine first, commerce second. Its a shame about the shows this year but Vegas is the last place I'm heading domestically this year.
