Boston Dynamics is primarily going to market in the security space through Asylon Robotics. This makes sense, IMO, Asylon is focusing on this segment, which overall has not been significant for BD, and can offer a more complete solution. The SPOT dogs will be in the Asylon booth, along with other things.

Our Friends at IPVM have decided not to include Gallagher in this article IPVM Image.

Gallagher have had a booth at ISC West since the early 2000's, this year we have a 30'x30' booth #27099.

I think we will attract a lot of attention at this years ISC West with some new products that definitely exceed anything offered that the main competitors have to offer. We believe the Cyber Security offered by our new C7000 controller raises the bar for our industry and for those who have seen some of my posts over the previous year I believe that our industry needs to step up its game from the Cyber Security perspective.

We've also added to our Mobile Credential offering, partnering with the Assa Abloy Aperio team to extend our "Mobile Connect" app to work with the latest generation of BLE capable Aperio readers. We will also be showing a wearable wallet credential that will be released with our May feature release. The end-to-end nature of our product means that customers' have all these new features right down to reader level with a simple software update.

Can I suggest that Gallagher customers and those interested in our products leave a comment here or elsewhere in IPVM to let IPVM know that you want to hear about Gallagher Security as well as the dinosaurs!

I don't think attacking your competitors as "dinosaurs" is appropriate nor prudent. I do see now your booth has expanded from 20 x 30 to 30x 30 this year. You could have just said that.

And we did not include Axis, Genetec, Hanwha, Milestone, Verkada, etc. because this is a post about "moves" (and to the best of our knowledge those stayed the same year over year) not who is the best or worst.

Hey John I agree that the dinosaur label was not justified.

Some would consider access control companies that still use proprietary hardware as dinosaurs.

Acre Security

Per John's point, acre security are not included as we didn't move (I like our location) but we did increase from 40x50 to a 40x60.

Evolon's main booth has moved closer to central zone #7065. Security pros can also find our technology partner pods at the Axis and Milestone booths. There are many ways to experience Evolon at ISC West 2024.

The show/event is ridiculously expensive and the reality it doesn't really net much gains for any manufacturer I have been employed with past and present. Before the show even ends, we are being harassed to already sign up for next year's show.

Also in some cases, things can shift based on the timeliness of a manufacturer's response to signing on the next year, thus they can lose their prime spot forcing an undesirable location change.

I have typically worked with some of the largest manufacturers that push for the front spots. Not really sure that matters as much as people think. The reality is, being in front or big gives the illusion of the companies well being in the marketplace.

In the end, people flock to see who they want to see no matter the size or location.

But, miss the event and everybody thinks you are going under. When the reality could be a ROI analysis just doesn't warrant the total spend. The mark is usually around a million dollars plus when all said and done. (All expenses to pull off this show).

However, I do like seeing some of my old favorites popping back up that I cut my teeth with in the distant past.

There have been many companies I have seen go large and end up going defunct or selling off. The industry is tough and highly competitive with price, technology advancement, and public access to so much research on the internet. I really think the need for these types of shows are not as important as a whole like they were in the past.

I have seen some rather large customers/end-users no longer attending based on their overall costs as well. Again, they have so much access to data online anymore. Plus we are dealing with a new breed of customers that in many cases can be even more informed than the best sales reps anymore.

Things are changing and maybe the manufacturers are adjusting.
