Dahua Launching USA Manufacturing and R&D

Published Apr 03, 2017 12:54 PM

'Made In the USA' video surveillance is going to take a big step forward if Dahua's ambitions come true.

The world's second largest video surveillance manufacturer, China-based Dahua, is significantly expanding their US operations with manufacturing and R&D operations to be launched in the USA.

In this report, we examine Dahua's strategy behind this, the impact this will have on the market, and how this will impact their #1 rival - Hikvision.

Recall last week's IP Cameras Lose Buy America Protection.

This is another example of the benefits of keeping Buy America protection and rewarding companies that choose to move operations to the USA.

China makes sure foreign video surveillance manufacturers manufacturer there. Recall how Axis continues to make cameras in China for China customers.

Smart Move By Dahua. Especially if executed well. Appears they mean business with their USA expansion.

I hope they understand what Made in USA means and not just "Assembled in the USA".

It has to be all or virtually all to pass to get the sticker

Interestingly I didn't know dahua manufacture now

after standing up at cpse in china mr fu

ceo of dahua swore he would put the 2000 plus camera manufacturers in china out of business

then in next breath dahua subcontracted out all their manufacturing to various sweat shops in china

hence we use to get different firmware depending who dahua subcontracted too

im glad we don't sell their crap anymore

Mr fu ceo thought he had his bags packed

he and his wife cashed 700 m usd in shares

I did think to ask if he needed help carrying the bags to the airport when he runs away from this impending disaster

One of the bigger Buy America challenges has historically been transit and transportation when projects are funded by the FTA.  Dahua's Transit guy lives in Houston.  I'm going with "not a coincidence".

Hi

I would like to simply state

unless manufacturing support is given or penalties imposed on imports it's impossible to manufacture cameras in the west

we run A camera manufacturer in china

the average cost of building an analogue camera is 1 usd in west this would be 5

duevto the amount of testing and handling involved

its just another con

probably just put them in a new box or tighten a screw

yes unfortunately i use to sell dahua

had 14 people in my returns department shovel dahua shit all day long

broke our backs getting dahua to work

they send us untested unfinished firmware ask us if it works

maybe their products not so sick these days

i think their hdd issue still there

mr fu wouldnt invest 1 usd in a decent sata controller

one bad sector and hard drive is toast

i dont think you can really call your self a true importer until you need a container to put your returns in

yes if their was a league for moving shit i think i would get a gold or silver medal
