Alarm.com Acquires Vintra
Alarm.com is acquiring US video analytics specialist Vintra, most known for its uncommon reidentification technology.
Alarm.com is becoming a major commercial physical security provider, most recently acquiring remote alarming / monitoring provider Noonlight last year, with its VSaaS / NVR OpenEye acquisition in 2019 being core to its commercial offering. Also, Alarm.com acquired Object Video in 2017 (or what remained of it), which has some parallels to this deal.
In this note, based on an interview with Alarm.com's President Ventures Business and Corporate Strategy Jeffrey Bedell, we examine why Alarm.com did the deal and how it may fit into Alarm.com's future plans.
