This is a "Go To" illuminator when doing LPR Capture. Love the 10 degree band when all filters are removed.
what VMS do these integrate with? wheres that follow up article?!
Milestone and Avigilon are the only VMSes listed by Raytec, in addition to Axis cameras.
I'm not sure what follow up article you mean, can you clarify?
In the video, they said that they would review the integration at a later time. I would like to see how well they work in the software and what functionality it will provide.
You're right, I did say that. I remember doing a video for it as well, but it's not here in the report. I'll check on that.
In general, the integrations let you turn on/off, control power, set them on patterns (SOS, flash, etc.). In groups or singularly.
We actually don't have a lot to demo on that end because a lot of those features are only applicable to white light illuminators, and our test was of an IR model. You wouldn't use patterns for deterrence with IR (no one can really see it), and likely if you're installing an IR illuminator you want it on at night and off during the day and that's it. So the integrations features with IR aren't much to look at.
IR deployment controlled via ADAM device allows you to do a lot. I have been a part of projects that turn them on via inputs from Bosch VMS through ADAM device to keep it as covert as possible until needed. These are fun IR to play with.
sometimes integration don't have the full features.
just seeing what actually options it has and if they actually work are good to know, saves me the cost of buy one and testing it prior to specifying it for a project.
I like the idea of lighting up a group of them, especially if you have them in separate locations.
Another caveat of the cheap brands, very short lifespans. The few cheap ones we tested a couple years ago barely lasted a year.
I know this topic is 2 years old but I'm curious if anyone is using the Vario lights and having issues with PoE+ from the switch to the lights. I have a fairly large installation and am connecting the Vario lights to Antaira industrial PoE+ switches that are rated for 30W & 48V per port. A lot of the lights seem to be failing, but what I think is happening is a problem with the communication between the devices, as if the switch is not properly detecting the light and in turn not sending the correct power. Plugging the light into a traditional 35W PoE+ injector seems to work well.
I had a similar issues about a year ago with a certain camera not communicating correctly with an HP switch about the type of PoE device it was, so no power was sent.
