Can we get a link to the chat on the top, possibly under the discussions tab?
IPVM Launches Live Chat Room
Now you can get help or talk with colleagues any time with IPVM's new Live Chat.
Chat is as old as AOL chat rooms and as hot as mega-startup Slack.
Benefits of Chatting
Ask a question anytime, get an answer. If you are working on a project or are considering a product, just ask in live chat. IPVM admins and other members can then respond, helping you out.
Stay in touch with other industry professionals. Get to know people. Tell a joke. Share some gossip. The IPVM live chat room is open.
The stock market is collapsing. Join IPVM Live Chat and talk about it.
Plus, we will be incorporating live chat into our courses, webinars and future special events.
Undisclosed Chatting
Just like commenting, chat supports Undisclosed messaging. This way, you can feel free to say what you want and not have your employer, partners or competitors know who you are.
Try It Now
Let us know what you think.
A link to chat is under the tools tab and the tools side bar but we'll consider adding / moving it to discussions.
Also, when there are more than 2 admins or 10 members in chat, a pop up on the lower right side should give notice.
Also woud be great if there were tagging and search features or another way to isolate interesting and relvant threads within the thread...But love the concept...
Paul, thanks.
We are considering search. It can be added pretty simply, we are just trying to get a feel of what people will talk about and how much value the individual exchanges add.
Most exchanges are pretty simple but if they require more discussion / analysis, we will start a new thread, e.g., Looking For An IP Camera With Built-In Loitering Analytic
Also, we decided to test a new camera today based on Steve Beck's request for a 1080p true WDR covert Samsung camera. So that is an interesting application of using the chat to discover and decide on new things to do.
