Wisenet Camera ONVIF Functionality

Hello everyone,

We use Nuuo software for VMS.   Recently had a customer attempt to use a Wisenet camera with the software.   ONVIF does not work between the two platforms.   Has anyone had success with integration?

We have had decent success with ONVIF on several brands, but this brand has been a struggle.

Wisenet claims they use ONVIF 2.4.1

Just curious if anyone has success with this newer implementation.  Also a bit curious if anyone thinks this is something R&D should have been on board with in the 1st place... vs. being reactive to the request.  As far as I can determine, Wisenet has been on the market for awhile now.

Claiming to have ONVIF functionality, and actually delivering has been an issue for us in general.   Some camera mfr's never fully/properly implement the protocol, and VMS folks may have their own issues with connectivity.   This opens an huge opportunity for everyone to finger-point.

Response from Nuuo after pestering them for a reply was that they expect to have integration by September.

I'm happy to hear your feedback.

I've recently run into an issue with a Flir ONVIF camera and an ONVIF  viewing monitor station.   The issue boiled down to that the Flir camera streamed on one port (that could not be changed) and the monitor was looking to receive video on a port (that could not be changed).  So, no one was really lying about their ONVIF compliance, they just implemented it in a way that was not open to everything

How did you determine the port information on both ends?   Some folks have suggested an application called Wireshark to see some more details, but I haven't utilized it yet.

Thanks.

I am familiar with wireshark. I did not use it on this issue. I determined the problem by many days of emails with technical support from both companies.. It was the thin client company that suggested the port issue, which I asked Flir about. Flir responded with the port that they use and that it could not be changed

Which Wisenet camera is it? If it's a recent H.265 model you may need to switch encoder profiles. I believe a lot of them default to H.265 as the primary stream, which causes ONVIF to fail.

If it's not one of the H.265 models, I may have some other thoughts, but the above has tripped me up multiple times.

Thanks Ethan,

It's an XNO-6010R that supports the H.265 profile.

I do have H.264 set to default profile.

I could not upload a screenshot

IPVM.com says:
An error occurred while sending xno610.jpg (-230 - Error#2049)

If you want to see, I have a link below to the jpg screenshot.

much appreciated,

Actually, on the Wisenet X line I haven't been able to get an H.264 stream via ONVIF in some cases. At least in Exacq, I believe in others. If I add it via ONVIF it gives me JPEG only. Let me check some things and get back to you.

I was able to get it to pull H.264 in Exacq by adding it as an ONVIF device with address x.x.x.x#profile=2. This only started working in 8.4.

I have gotten an ONVIF stream on certain devices but what i Have noticed is a custom ONIVF profile was created in the Profile section on the camera.

It may an error in the software is looking for an account that has already been created instead of creating one then connecting to the newly created account.

Camera I used was a XNP-6370RH PTZ creates a profile with 00 and a bunch of random numbers after that

Select the profile. The change the profile setting drop down. It is default to high profile. Change it to baseline or main profile.

Also try changing it to vbr bitrte mode. It looks like you have it set to cbr mode, as I see the atc option enabled.  When you use vbr mode, atc is disabled.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I tried your ideas on settings and end up with the same issue.  The camera entry is created in the Nuuo software, but in the end, it can't connect to show video.

FYI,  Various settings allowed me to enable ATC with CBR and VBR.  If I only checked Default profile checkbox for the profile (h.264) it allows it.   If I check Record profile, or Digital PTZ profile, the ATC mode option gets greyed out.

I did various tests with resolution, CBR, VBR, profile settings (Baseline and Main)

ATC enabled in various forms, and disabled.

Nuuo replied today that they are reaching out to R&D @ Wisenet/Hanwha to discuss the ONVIF protocols they use.   They set expectations for potentially some time in September.

I'm guessing this is a driver-type mismatch of some sort.

I'm open to any other ideas or suggestions, or if someone has this working on a Nuuo windows platform, I'd appreciate shared info on setup.

I guess they can't all be easy.. right?  :)

Make sure the video connection policy is unchecked. Also reboot the camera after making all of thr changes.

Thank you again for the follow up.   I still get the same results with making the changes and rebooting.  The connection policy is unchecked.

We'll see what comes back from Nuuo on their testing at this point.

Will it accept RTSP stream?

I have been unable to pull an RTSP stream from the camera into the Nuuo software.   Waiting until September to see when Nuuo may be able to integrate with this cam.

Can you pull RTSP from the camera into VLC or ONVIF device manager?

Hey all,  Following up on this.  I was told integration would be done by now.  A month or so of padding added to a supposed September delivery.

I may lose some business due to lack of integration.

If anyone has uncovered anything that might help, I'm happy to discuss and test.

My Nuuo frustrations continue......  sigh.

It's like they don't care :(      --Sarcastic despair.

Matt, sorry to hear that. As for NUUO, that's unfortunate but not unfortunately surprising.
