VMS Webinar Series

By: John Honovich, Published on Aug 07, 2014

Over the next month, each Monday at 11am EDT / 15:00 GMT, IPVM will be hosting a webinar on a different VMS (OnSSI, NUOO< Network Optix), doing a live presentation and review of the software in action. After the webinar, we will post full test reports with videos.

Each webinar will be a mixture of IPVM analysis and member questions / feedback.

Alhtough I cannot make these webinars due to other schedules, I look foward to the reports.

I'm surprised HD Witness/Digital Watchdog didn't make a better showing in the original ranking. I don't have a whole bunch of experience yet, but that is by far my fav.

I will however sign-up for the webinars to see if I missed something.

HD Witness is one of the newest VMSes. That alone is going to make it hard for it to rank high amongst integrators.

HD Witness / Network Optix main weakness is the lack of advanced features that its bigger rivals have built up over their 5 to 10 year head start.

I hope you will change your mind and record them because for me I can't make it at the mentioned time. Thanks

No, we are not recording the webinars. They are preliminary analysis. As I mentioned in the original post, we will be publishing a full test report on each VMS with embedded videos afterwards.

Record +1

Again, we are not recording the webinars. There will be full test reports of each VMS, including in-depth videos. This will be better and clearer than a webinar.

This is an exciting opportunity to review other systems aside from our preferred product. I look forward to seeing NUUO in action. They have been on my radar for some time back when I used to push out a fair amount of Geovision product.

I'm looking forward to your webinars to compare/contrast several leading VMS platforms. Of course, the 'Old Guard' (Genetec & Milestone) and 'Up and Comers' (Avigilon & Exacq) from Sarit Williams' VMS Shoot-Out series of 2013 are going to be presented.

I hope you will consider adding Digital Watchdog, OnSSI and Video Insight, and perhaps GeoVision, to the series alongside the 'wild card' NUUO to round out the collection of enterprise-ready VMS platforms. That way, the challengers will have an opportunity to be demo'd side-by-side against the established players. Thanks!

As a point of information, NUUO is not a 'wild card'. They got more favorite votes than all the other VMSes you listed above in the Favorite VMS Manufacturers 2014.

That said, we will do more VMSes in the future as well as head to head comparisons - "Genetec vs Milestone", etc.

Is ONSSI replacing Genetec?

No, the Genetec webinar is finished. The Genetec test report will come out next week.

As we complete VMSes, we'll add new ones.

For example, Exacq is next week. At that point, it will be removed from the webinar list and replaced by a newly added VMS.

are these being recorded and if so where can I watch them?

These times are difficult for me to attend.

Answered twice above.

please consider adding additional reviews of DVTel and Eagle Eye to the series

Andrew, we will consider it. Probably not webinars as I am not sure if there is broad enough interest but maybe test reports with videos.

Do you have test reports for Milestone and Avigilon?

Milestone will be released the Monday after next. Avigilon will be released the Monday after that.
