Unikey Smart Phone Access Control Platform Profile

Author: Brian Rhodes, Published on Mar 21, 2017

More and more people carry smart phones. Many think this could replace the conventional key or card for access control.

However, using a phone creates a number of challenges, including both ensuring various phone models work and that the door hardware can reliably interoperate with all these phones.

Unikey believes that they can solve these challenges plus help incumbent door hardware and access control providers integrating with smart phones. Unikey has partnered with several lock brands, including consumer market giant Kwikset, but where else might they be a fit?

IPVM spoke with Unikey and discussed the company's value proposition, business strategy, and commercial market plans.
