Ubiquiti Access Control Tested

By Brian Rhodes and John Scanlan, Published Oct 21, 2020, 09:50am EDT

Ubiquiti has become one of the most widely used wireless and switch providers for physical security systems. Now it has entered electronic access control.

While Cisco tried access control but failed, can Ubiquiti be a factor and disrupt?

We bought and tested Ubiquiti's UniFi Access to see how it stacks up against competitors in the commercial security space.

In this report, we cover these findings and more:

  • 7 key strengths and 7 key weaknesses
  • 5 videos showing physical build details of the controller, overview of the app, and management interface.
  • Multiple sections and images explaining how UniFi Access' management app works

Inside, we detail our findings on how well the system operates, where it is weak, and how it compares to previously tested Axis and ZK Teco access control offerings.
