Theoretically could one contact Throughtek to develop your own app? For example, if a supplier carried Uniview, Dahua, and Hikvision, could they bring video streams all onto one app for you?

Throughtek P2P/Cloud Solution Profile
Many IoT manufacturers either do not have the capabilities or the interest to develop their own cloud management software for their devices. However, such capabilities are becoming increasingly desired by customers. Companies like Throughtek provide a solution for those manufacturers (i.e. Wyze Cam). This short overview will cover:
- Basic details about Throughtek
- Their services and how they work
- Known users
- Potential concerns with this technology
- Throughtek's financial performance

Funny, but that's what companies like Night Owl already do in some sense. It's just whether you want to foot the bill. Remember, a lot of the companies you saw listed as their customers don't actually manufacturer. Some receive product from multiple manufacturers.
I started on a similar project two years ago, got to the UI stage but didn't follow through and scrapped it.
It's just too risky to put our brand name on a software whose maintenance we can't fully control. Even with a maintenance contract it's still risky. Any problem in the app results in a PR disaster.
In short: you can get what you need done in China for 2-5k usd. There are companies that have white label apps already so it's just a matter of slapping your name on it with a couple of minor UI changes.
In India you can get a more reliable custom made one by a top 10 app developer for around 30-40k USD.
I don't know what ThroughTek is like but it seems to me that they concentrate more on iot including the backend and p2p rather than just a mobile app for video surveillance.
This is pretty cool.
We will soon test their stuff and compare it to Tuya!
Interesting security flaw discovered in what appears to be Guardzilla's cloud connectivity:
Security flaws let anyone snoop on Guardzilla smart camera video recordings
Unclear at this point if any of this is tied to their Throughtek use, though it seems possible.
