Funny related story. I was speaking to someone today who said he heard a temperature tablet was doing well at his local school. And I am sure it is from the perspective of returning normal temperatures for virtually everyone.
David Blaine should release a brand of temperature tablet...
While the approach is clever it delivers a false sense of security.
Arne Sorenson of Marriott calls it "hygiene theater". Is there some way I can get a front side picture of the Goodview or any of the units as far as the actual thermopile? The BEMS, if you look at sensor side, is Heimann HTPA32x32.
For reference too some of the "cheap" Chinese tablets with facial recognition use Dahua algorithms and have been found to curl Dahua servers. That would be HIPAA violation.
Understand that this is only semi-related, but it shows the utter lack of understanding outside of the 'Security' community: My family and I recently went to a local restaurant and had to fill out a form and have our temperatures scanned prior to being allowed inside. All 3 of us were deemed "Healthy" and allowed inside, even though all 3 of us had a temperature reading that was logged in at 94.5 - 94.8 degrees.
Other than being able to check the box that asks "Did you take the temperature?" there is absolutely zero benefit to the restaurant, my family or the public at large for having to go through this process. But at least the government can say they put 'safeguards' in place to save us all.
To quote MLK: "Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity"
The lawsuits that are going to come out of this down the road are going to be epic. To this day I refuse to sell anything related to fever or temperature monitoring, the accurate stuff is very expensive and most buyers don't have the kind of funds required to get them.
