SIA Opposes Private Right To Sue For Biometric Regulations

In a growing number of states, security technology manufacturers and their buyers are impacted by laws allowing individuals to sue businesses over nonconsensual biometrics collection. Known as "private right of action," this is resulting in expensive class actions.

SIA testified before US senators, arguing against privacy legislation that gives individuals the right to sue over alleged violations. SIA expanded on its position in an interview with IPVM.
