ReconaSense - The AI / Access Control / Analytics / IoT / Video Company Profile

By: Sean Patton, Published on Jun 12, 2018

One company's ISC West booth stood out for displaying a light-up tower of buzzwords. The company, ReconaSense, pledged to be 'making sense of it all' but it was hard to understand how they all fit together.

Can ReconaSense, a new venture by industry veterans, successfully leverage these technologies in the traditionally slow-to-innovate access control industry?

Inside this note, based on discussions with ReconaSense, we examine their approach, key claimed differentiators and outlook. Plus, we examine their 'Active Shooter Mitigation' module and social media plugin, atypical elements offered in conventional security systems.

I absolutely love how they list Social Engineering as one of their applications.

They definitely are focusing on some non-traditional physical security applications, but the big question is, will buyers/integrators/decision-makers care?

they bolted an anomaly detector on a door lock system and this is news?  why don't you just integrate an existing anomaly detector on your existing door lock system?
