HID Product Configurator Examined

By Dan Gelinas, Published on Nov 26, 2018

HID is widely used. However, figuring out all the different configurations of features for a final credential or reader part number can be a real headache, with around 75,000 different configurations available.

HID has created a solution called Product Configurator that they say will "demystify" the whole process.

In this note, we examine:

  • Benefits of It
  • Drawbacks and Limitations
  • New vs Old Way of Configuring
  • How It Works
  • Future Development
