Does anyone have experience or familiarity with Cantronic out of Canada? Interested in any feedback.

Thanks for the heads up. We have Cantronic listed for their FeverScan cameras in our Directory of 200 "Fever" Camera Suppliers but had not seen that they offer a fever tablet.

That is a Uniview Relabel, which we have tested the Uniview Wrist Temperature Reader, but not the thermal imager model:

An update has been made to this post to reflect China relabeling of Bems devices. This repetitive relabelling can make it difficult for even Western relabelers themselves to discern where their products are truly coming from.

Bems relabelers do not only exist in the West. Shenzhen Smart Device Technology is a China company relabeling Bems. SMDT then sells the product overseas to companies who relabel the product again

Has anyone got any information on Safe Space Scan? I see they use the Heimann Infrared Technology.

So if you purchase from Aurora you will not be able to purchase from glorystar for 90 days. Aurora has had supply and demand issues and had some of our orders on delay for 8 weeks. The 10 inch tablet can be powered POE but the 15 and the 21 inch can not. The pole that holds the display inner diameter is to small to run an HDMI inside it and the power cord it self has the power brick on it so it is not long enough to pull the wire up the pole. Soyou need to get some 16/2 and splice the power to hide it and if you plan on having a slave monitor on it then you need to be ready to run a extender and not a hard wired HDMI or you will have to have the wires exposed down the pole.

I do like how tauri checks the temp it is a constant reading there is no "show your face "let me get the temp and then wait half a second to get an "ok" Tauri is just always moving and will just change from green to red.

Hi,

I can help clarify some of your reported issues. The long lead-times are no more and Aurora has inventory. The product was first to market months ago and sold out very quickly and created a long backorder until production matched the demand. Currently, Aurora has the capacity to delivery even very large qtys in 45 days if it exceeds the available stocking inventory.

As for the pole stand, Aurora solved the issue by supplying a 6ft power extension male to female cord to travel the length of the pole. For the HDMI cable, if a cable with a reasonable boot for the connector is used, it should pass through. An even better way is to use the LAN as the Aurora Tablet has a full control system engine with web server so you can serve up an operator panel and stream as well. I would recommend you download the latest firmware next week as it is a major update with many new features, fixes, and enhancements.

Hope this has been helpful.

So do they work and well enough to justify cost and installation?

Yes, they work very well and with the Digital Signage portion that is added on the new firmware is a bonus and you wont find this same feature in any other products. I have a 10 inch and a 15 inch in stock but they will not last long. Check out the video below to see how you can answer the 3 CDC questions with no touch option as the display can read your hands to answer yes and no. I do like these models however we have been selling other brands as well that are less complicated when it comes to access control and a simple pass or fail option.

There are some significant problems and inconsistencies with the Tauri tablet, demonstrated in your own video. Specified accuracy is

IPVM Image

Within the demonstration video, which is in a very controlled environment, there was a range of temperature measurement of at least 2.41 degrees F, on the same person, within 10 seconds of the same video.

97.34 degrees F:

IPVM Image

99.7 degrees F:

IPVM Image

Do you have feedback on what would have caused this significant discrepancy just seconds apart? Where is the Tauri tablet detecting temperatures from, because the hat could be causing problems with forehead scanning. However, not only is that "FDA Compliant" as claimed but not recommended by the FDA or IEC.

HI Sean, I do not have anything to do with Aurora and or this video. I can not speak on any of the questions or points you are questioning me about. This video is from aurora youtube channel. I can only speak on my experience with the product. Sorry feel free to reach out to them directly.

Thanks Ben, it seemed you were a sales partner them based on:

I have a 10 inch and a 15 inch in stock but they will not last long

Clearly there are some problems with their accuracy performance that would not generally lead to a conclusion of "work very well" based on the video you shared.

I have reached out to Glorystar for feedback.

Hi, I answered your question in the prior response. FYI Glorystar and Aurora while partnered is not the same firmware and even the hardware is slightly different to support the processing required for the Aurora ReAX server that lives inside it. The firmware running in the Aurora branded is 100% ours and makes the unit substantially modified in the USA due to the firmware and the physical changes to the unit. Glorystar unit does not have the same feature capabilities as the TTS models by Aurora.

What feature capabilities are missing in the Glorystar unit that is offered by Aurora? There are some minor on-screen interface changes that are obvious, but when comparing GS and Aurora's websites it is not clear what the advantages of Aurora are.

Again, right on the Aurora website, there are videos showing the system being used feet from an entrance glass door and wall of windows, setting an unrealistic expectation of performance (which we have been critical specifically of FLIR for their marketing as well):

This is especially a location where using the background environment as a reference rather than a blackbody (which could also drift) is concerning.

Hi, that video is outdated and was the original firmware before we had ours ready. We are in the process of updating the entire website from ground up.

Differences:

1. Interface

2. Gesture Detection

3. QR Code Generation and Detection

4. Full customizable user and operator interface.

5. Full blown server side control engine based on Node.js. This allows you to code just about anything you want and interface into any system you want. You can automate the building with it if you wanted to.

6. Snap shot and email capabilities

7. Streaming feeds for security and remote viewing

8. Digital signage customization

9. Audio prompts

Overall the main difference with the Aurora units versus all on the market is the full programmability of it which no one has so you are in control of the entire user experience. This is much more than just a temperature tablet.

Hope this clarifies.

Hi Sean, when that video was shot the environmental calibration had not been done. You are not supposed to pause and catch us with our pants down :) That video was never supposed to be the final video and we did an interview last minute with Rave and let's just say we did not have the time for a reshoot. Deadlines...go figure.

When it runs in real-time it is picking up all the temp variations in the sensor array area. When environmental calibration is used, it looks at the subject and the background environment and it looks on where it barely changes by .2 deg. This calibration is not the same as a blackbody as we do that at factory nor do we need a blackbody in the background. This calibration is more about the overall sensor array looking at everything in the field of view for where the device is located. The customer does it once at install and saves it in memory. You can redo it at will if there is a drastic change in environment. As many know IR sensor can be impacted for varying reasons and this makes it much more robust.

We will be making a new video and will make certain just for you we have it calibrated this time around and will show many other additions which I will not go into as I want to respect this sight and not turn it into a sales pitch. Hope this answered your questioned.

Does anyone know who's building CDVI's FTC-1000? They claim NDAA compliance, I can see they have one of Heimanns sensors in it. But who manufacturers the tablet for them?

Agree

It is physically identical to Longse's tablet offering (the red circle is a highlight from CDVI's video, not my markup):

IPVM Image

It is not clear if Longse is the original manufacturer, and we previously reached out to Longse for feedback and did not receive a response. I will follow up with them.

Neither manufacturer lists the SoC/main processor used with this tablet, so we cannot make the determination regarding NDAA. We have found the majority of tablets we have researched use Rockchips processors.

I visited a customer today that uses the Lamasa kiosk. My security contact there was on vacation when covid hit and their IT dept got Lamasa from their copy machine supplier......it keeps malfunctioning and they want a solid solution from me.

Fortunately, the kiosk did flag 8 people, and 6 of those later tested positive and no other issues.
