Exacq announces a new line of NVRs and has discontinued 4 series that were not NDAA compliant. Where does this leave their hardware offerings?

In this note, we examine Exacq's server offerings including feedback from Exacq management, and compare it to rivals such as Avigilon and Hikvision.

They previously told us that the new G-series was using an Intel SoC, I will follow up about the Q-series and post their response.

Linux versions of Exacq servers typically support 50-100% greater video storage rates and 30%-50% higher local client FPS display.

Exacq said that while the hardware is identical, Linux OS outperforms Windows in their testing: The hardware specs are identical. For our specific workload writing through the file system (recording throughput) and drawing many decoded video streams to screen, the Linux OS does outperform Windows OS in our testing.

That is quite a difference. However, does this simply mean awful Exacq code optimization for Windows?

No this means that Windows bloat slows down a NVR by 50% - 100%. Whether this is via NTFS or crappy drivers, you can be sure that windows server is the culprit here.
