Environmental Sensors For Burglar Alarm Tutorials

Intrusion detection systems can be used to alert users to environmental issues. By connecting sensors that monitor the heat, humidity, and moisture, alarm subscribers can be alerted to potential problems before they grow worse. In this tutorial, we examine different types of environmental sensors, including 

  • Fixed temperature sensors
  • Programmable temperature sensors
  • Humidity sensors
  • Flood sensors

Common Applications

Storage facilities, server farms, and other buildings with automated machinery often function with no staff on site. This means that small problems are not noticed and corrected before they turn into big problems. For example, if the temperature falls in a storage facility, it might mean that the heat needs to be turned off before the water in the sprinkler system freezes, causing the pipes to burst. If the humidity in a server room begins to rise, the dehumidifier may be clogged or broken, and this condition must be corrected before the humidity begins to damage the servers.
