The funny part of saying you sold to a US company is 1) they only claim their NA business was sold and 2) Where are the products made? I assume they are still being made by Dahua in Dahua factories overseas. Thus they are still Dahua. This new company is effectively a sales company or subsidiary....??

They aren't even rebranding the product to the new ame. Just a new shirt to try to get around it. So much for ethics.

Gets barred for unethical practices, then uses unethical practices to attend events. If nothing changes, then nothing changes.

If SIA cares about the ethics of its members (as they claim) and a member alerts them to the risk that a new member might effectively be an old expelled member using a different name, they should immediately investigate it without effectively daring us to trigger such an action.

Dahua has still made no official statement about what is going on and they have filed nothing with the FCC despite us formally informing the FCC of this new claimed development.

Luminys Systems Corp., which, up until a few months ago, was a small lightning manufacturer / reseller in SoCal

Now that is impressive!

IPVM ImageMaybe they will pretend they are only presenting products that aren't banned, like led lighting that has no connectivity...

Or, as in this month's ADI flyer, Dahua / Luminys access control:

In the end, it too is the responsibility of resellers (integrators/distributors) and buyers to stay away from these products. Sadly, the almighty dollar saved always seems to win. May the cheapest win.

Take away the market and there is no reason for Dahua to play the game.

Also, as a seasoned employee of many manufacturers, I personally have the responsibility to accepting a position with these types of companies. Sorry, but ethics does play a role in being responsible for ourselves in what we do and represent. The old cliche of, "it was my job" doesn't dismiss anyone from doing the right thing.

I am all about cutting the head of the snake off, but those supporting a bad cause really needs to be exposed (as IPVM does). I have no problem calling a spade a spade anymore. I have gone as far to tell companies I see using these types of products that I don't appreciate them putting my privacy at risk because they are not being responsible buyers to know about the products they allowed to be installed. Especially any form of government type entity. Even if by a distant relationship thereof.
