Dahua USA Removing 30+ "Banned Words"
Dahua USA is removing more than 30 words from its marketing that the company describes are "banned words" in internal correspondence obtained by IPVM.
Dahua confirmed this move, including deleting the words "surveillance", "ethnicity", "education" and dozens more, to IPVM saying that they did this to "ensure that we are able to explain our business simply and clearly to customers" as well as "fully respect[ing] the restrictions placed upon us by the US government".
In this note, we examine all 30+ "BANNED WORDS", the impact of these changes, and Dahua's detailed response.

Any suggestion that we are changing terminology to avoid substantively addressing business practices or products that impact compliance with NDAA restrictions or with an FCC order is simply false, and unjustified by facts.
