KJB says the device's SSID is hidden so that people with access to the network will not see an unfamiliar wireless device and become suspicious.

That's true for the average layman, but even when the SSID is not broadcasting (which is what is really happening), almost all wireless network utilities can see the wireless network as being present, even if the SSID is not being broadcasted.

I'm surprised covert options took this long for cloud cameras. Good report.
