Unsubstantiated Claims: Athena, Evolv, SoundThinking, Xtract One Claim 7x to 10x Metal Detectors Throughput
Speed is a critical criterion for weapons screening buyers who hope not only to detect weapons but to do it with minimal inconvenience. This has led many sellers to tout aggressive claims with no substantiation.
We first reported Evolv Violating FTC Rules, Refuses To Substantiate 10x Competitor Claim, which has been doing this for four years, and now we show the pattern extending to three of its rivals.
In this report, we analyze these claims and the lack of substantiating evidence and provide our reasoning on why they are unfair and misrepresenting of both metal detectors and "weapons detectors," plus one entrant, CEIA, who objected to these throughput claims.
