California LPR Data Sharing Law Dispute Entangles Flock And Motorola
Can California law enforcement agencies share LPR data outside of California? An IPVM investigation found that agencies are sharply divided as they mostly use Flock or Motorola, who are building large businesses sharing LPR data nationwide.
In this report, based on contacting 70 California law enforcement agencies, we examine how and why they are divided on this law, what they use for LPR, and how it could impact Flock and Motorola.
