He is doomed from the start! Innovation doesn’t happen with better phone support and RMA process improvements. The Arecont brand is dead. A full intervention is required.

What would your intervention consist of?

New name, entrepreneurial leadership, innovative products, and a big marketing campaign would be a good start.

New name, entrepreneurial leadership, innovative products, and a big marketing campaign...

Keep the building then?

I guess this depends on if he came from Dave’s PELCO or Schneider’s PELCO.   Dave’s survived and thrived with service and marketing.   Schneider’s survived and shrunk on just size.   It’s Christmas, a miracle could happen.

Good point / question.

I added a sentence overviewing his tenure at Pelco:

Compton had a 16-year tenure at Pelco, with his LinkedIn profile showing him starting as a software engineer in 2001 and finishing as CTO when he departed in 2017.

Screencap of his posted Pelco work history:

He would need to ditch both Dave’s AND Schneider’s model. People always want to blame the downfall of Pelco on Schneider but the reality is- Pelco was tanking hard for years before Schneider bought them. Dave did a masterful shell game on how badly Pelco entered the IP market and how bad the QC issues were.

It simply came in the spotlight once Schneider got a hold of them and started cutting out things like Pelco tech support.

Dave's model was great and why they were the leader in analog.  They missed the boat on ip which is what sunk them.  It was not the first rate customer service and bulletproof products, which is what I see as Dave's model, that sunk Pelco.

That would be ironic since Vicon bought IQinVision which was the company Arecont killed, and a lot of the IQinVision staff still works at Vicon.

With all the amazing innovation from Pelco in the last 10 years Arecont should be #1 in a year with their new leader.  Wait a minute it's not 1995 is it?

Bad product and bad management for years. Raul was part of the problem. He should have been sent packing years ago along with the rest of the management team who failed to fix the problems of this company, but Raul is like a politician he says the things that people want to hear but his words are hollow I am sure he will talk himself into another job, guys like him are like cockroaches they can survive most anything I will give him props for that. I am shocked that this company has held on for this long......

I think Shane takes the money. Shane has the experience, so why not put him in place.

He led 120 engineers(cackles). Let's watch his performance and innovation, as time goes by we will see.
