Axis "All-In-One" LPR Kit Tested
With LPR becoming increasingly common in video surveillance, Axis has recently released a new License Plate Verifier Kit claiming to be an easy, cost-effective kit for slow traffic, but how well does it work?
We bought and tested the Axis P1465-LE-3 All-On-One Kit, examining:
- How accurate are plate reads overall?
- How well does it handle increasingly common stacked characters and specialty plates?
- Can it read front and back plates?
- How well does it read dirty or scratched plates?
- Does the LPR kit miss passing plates?
- How well are plates captured at night?
- Can it alert on plates with deviated letters?
- How much latency is typical from a plate read to notification?
- Are hotlists or rules simple to configure to get notifications?
- Does it support Make, Model, Color, or Speed metadata?
- How deep is integration into Axis Camera Station or Other VMSes?
