Airship VMS Profile

Published Apr 03, 2019 13:57 PM

IPVM ImageAirship has been developing VMS software for over 10 years, however, with no outside investment, and minimal marketing, the company is not well known.

But who is Airship? We spoke to them about their VMS, why they stopped OEMing Hikvision in 2017, their focus on public safety solutions and migration toward a PSIM-lite, Internet-of-Things data-driven system, and plans for growth.

In this profile we examine:

  • Who is Airship?
  • What verticals do they focus on/target?
  • What is their sales and support model?
  • Do they offer servers or software-only
  • How is their VMS priced?
  • How do they compare with other VMSes?
  • What are their plans for growth?

Thank you for the question. We have offerings for both the Windows and Linux OS platform, with more developed offerings on the Windows platform at this time. Our current roadmap is aimed at reaching feature parity for both platforms in the near term. Please let us know if we can provide more specific details.

You’re obviously the OTHER Paul Allen from Redmond? Not the one who died last October. That’s gotta be a tough name to have in a tech centric role in Redmond, no?

I've come across Airship being used on cruise ships (I always thought it was kind of a funny juxtaposition). The live mapping component was a big part of this, each frame of video was tagged with GPS coordinates so that you could see where the ship was when a particular frame was captured.

Good profile.  This company keeps a low profile and I've always been curious.   I've come across Airship only once in 18 years of selling IP video as a manufacturer.  Is IPVM  planning a review of their Nexus VMS?  It look & sounds a lot more advanced and polished than I would have guessed.

Thanks UD #2 and UD #4. We work in targeted areas, although we are working to expand other markets. Yes, there are many things going on in the background with how Airship works. Feel free to shoot me an email at mike@airshipvms.com for a walk through some stuff. Thanks IPVM, I love this site, you do your due diligence.
