Almost 4 years after ACC5 was released, Avigilon is releasing the next major revision of their VMS, which includes their Appearance Search technology announced in Q2 2016 and now shipping.
Some ACC5 users will be able to upgrade to ACC6 for free, but most will have to pay for the upgrade, and utilizing Appearance Search will require an additional investment.

Very happy to see that Avigilon is now also promoting forensic search. From all global open platform vendors only Axxon and Avigilon offering such features.
I really hope that IPVM will evaluate Appearance Search, MomentQuest and FaceSearch as this technologies are true innovations in VMS field.
Do they have a full version OSX client for mac users?
There is a HTML5 webclient though it does not have all the think client features.
Does anyone know if support for acc 5 will cease at some date?
Will bug fixing, security updates and feature additions only be made for acc 6 in the future?
Is the hardware gpu requirement for the appearance search function a client or a server requirement?
Should everybody switch to acc client 6 even for acc server 5?
I some point yes support for ACC5 will cease but that will be years away just like support for ACC4 stopped years after ACC5 was released.
The GPU card goes is the servers as is not used or connected to monitors.
ACC6 client works fine with ACC5 which is really nice as we have many customers will multiple sites where we would need to upgrade everyone at once. Since ACC6 works with ACC5 servers this will make the upgrade process much easier.
