This is excellent reporting, Dan! And I think Amazon will successfully recruit subs to handle their pro installs nationwide. Many alarm companies focus more on sub work than on building their own account bases. When I polled members of Burglar Alarms Online as to whether or not they would sub for Amazon, one response was, “As long as the check clears.”

Aug 04, 2019Jake, no one reputable will sub for amazon with the prices they want to pay. I was contacted from Amazon wanting me to apply to be a subcontractor for them and the pay was low i would lose money on the installs. They kept telling me it gets your foot in the door to sell your other services and you can make up the money that way.

Apr 27, 2019Amazon seems to be focused on being the SSFE… single-source-for-everything. They are known for their deep research. They will fully understand the private security industry, like ADT, Rapid Response (their remote-monitoring), Allied Universal (guards & patrols), and of course product suppliers. We believe they will not buy ADT or Rapid Response, but will learn from their ageing weakness and re-start the next generation to meet the rapid growth of private security, globally.
