The thin metal backplate used to secure these readers (at least the Isonas version) are not user friendly IMO.  The cutouts in the mounting plate have very sharp edges and can easily skive the pigtail cable or the Cat5 cable running through them, not to mention your fingers if you're not careful.  Who has used electrical tape as an instant band aid to stop a sliced finger from bleeding onto a freshly wall!

Also, the little (and I mean little) set screw used to secure the reader body to the mounting plate at the bottom is a bit difficult to use.  The screw is easy to drop and lose on the floor/carpet (you know how small steel screws blend into the flooring material and sometimes are nearly impossible to find once you drop it and it bounces away?)

These readers have a much better form factor/appearance than the previous Isonas readers, but I prefer the way the way the older Isonas readers mount.

Also, would be interesting if you could find out where these readers are manufactured? The reason I ask is that the Isonas reader boxes used to say "Made in USA".  I believe I saw one recently that said "Assembled in USA".

With all the "smarts" now going into the readers, could there ever be a concern about "country of origin"?

PCSC also rebrands these readers.
