Not an April Fools joke, I hope? That is a suprisingly low price.

It's real, few companies take an April Fools joke so far as an SEC filing.
And I agree on the low price a $14M exit is hard to see as any kind of a positive.
Has a reliable number for the Canon acquisition of Milestone yet surfaced? I know it has been guessed at being around 150-250 million, but that was obtained by guessing the multiple.
I have heard higher (towards $500 million price) as well but given their ~$75 million revenue at acquisition, it is hard to imagine Canon being that crazy...
Btw, and this is fairly obvious, but the multiple for Milestone is likely to be significantly higher than Aimetis given Milestone's much stronger brand / higher market position.
Wow. That is really low.
The list of acquired VMS companies is longer than the list of independent ones at this point... I hope there are no planned reductions in staff as part of this deal.
FWIW, Senstar is also a Canadian company.
Senstar has a broad range of outdoor sensor products, devices which are effectively useless without a visualization or alerting component.
Much like cameras. ;)
Aimetis has moved to VMS because the Analytic in early stage didn't bring so much revenues. Their revenue should be calcultated like for Milestone or Genetec, approx. 200 K$/employee Analytic doesn't generate higher value at the time being, vs VMS..
Now...the analytic is much more in the mood combined with Intrusion and access control. Having an analytic engines integrated to the VMS could be a great advantage. Very few have this, and some have to use complex external modules. I really thought that Axis would have purchased it, but Canon's initiative should have killed it in the egg.
It looks like Aimetis is now going to be distributed through Anixter.
