Join me in welcoming Robert Shih to IPVM. Robert will be a reporter and will focus on business topics including distribution and Chinese companies.

Robert joins us from ENS / Savvytech where he supported integrators dealing with Dahua products. You may also recognize his name from being a frequent commenter.

Robert is IPVM's 6th hire this year, joining Charles, Ryan, Sean, Dan, and Will. Everyone else remains as is (though Will is busy in school now and will return later).

To start, Robert has been going through import records to help us better understand who is OEMing to whom, as product sources and relationships have become more important to buyers.

Robert will also help us attend more conferences so we can provide more on the ground reports of various events.

If you have suggestions of topics for Robert to cover or events to go, let us know.

Having more people help but we are also careful about having / hiring people with relevant expertise. Also, our business model helps. Even back we had the same number of people like the trade magazines (i.e., 2-3 'editorial), we were still much better since we did not have the constraints of worrying about offending advertisers.

Marty it’s not about votes, it’s about time.

Did you know that every agree, informative and funny vote cast for a given member extends the membership of that member by an average of 322 minutes*?

Therefore one vote for Sean theoretically enables nearly 6 more hours of prime Nelsonian material, for instance it might allow for:
