I have a spec I am in the process of updating. 282113 - IP Camera, It's obvious to me that the spec was originally a CCTV spec, As such I have replaced all CCTV references with IP Camera references, but I could use help with converting the following to current standards please.

1) SIA TVAC

2) FCC CFR 47 Part 15 Class A

and some Electrical Standards

3) NFPA 70

4) NECA 1-2010

5) NEC/NFPA 70E

#1, I apologize if I am hijacking your question but can I please ask first what you want to do here? I understand you want to update the specs but why? Are you sure those specs (or updated versions) are relevant? My concern is that you may just be loading your spec with unnecessary requirements that people may not even be able to meet.

For example, I've literally never heard of SIA TVAC nor do I even see it being mentioned on IPVM before or in my email for the past decade. I did find a 2001 copy of the spec - CCTV to Access Control Standard - Message Set for System Integration SIA TVAC-01-2001.04 For example, do you need to integrate video with an access control system? ONVIF is working towards that and you might include Profile A or C but that could cause problems since it has such limited support. Related: Access Control Does Not Want ONVIF

Can you provide a little feedback so we can help you better?

John,

Your point is the point I was attempting to make.

I believe some of the standards may no longer be relevant such as the SIA TVAC. As mentioned, the spec that I was charged with updating is for IP Camera's within a system, that will be a part of a separate VMS or ACS system spec.

When I began revising the spec there were a few IP Camera references that someone had added, but they left a lot of outdated CCTV references. I have deleted most of those and where applicable replaced them with the relevant IP standards. The ones I have listed in my original post are standards I am unfamiliar with and think may be able to be eliminated. I was hoping someone might recognize them and know of a more current standard, otherwise my plan was to eliminate them.

It should be mentioned that we do a large number of K-12 School capital renovation projects and it is often the case where a qualified electrical contractor is utilized for cable plant and Camera installation, which I believe is why there are also Electrical standards mentioned in the spec I inherited.

I hope this clarifies things a little, and thanks for your help.

#1, great, thanks!

I'll leave the electrical points to others. On the video side, the most important meaningful one is ONVIF, but specifically worded, "ONVIF Profile S officially conformant products as listed here https://www.onvif.org/conformant-products/"
