IPVM's January 2022 FCC Comment - Hikua FCC Sales Tactics, ADI Hikvision Promotion, Revoking Authorizations
IPVMU Certified | 01/12/22 07:18pm
IPVM submitted a new comment on the FCC proposal to ban Dahua and Hikvision authorizations. The comment explained issues recently covered by IPVM that are relevant to the FCC's deliberations, including:
- Hikua efforts to increase US sales with argument they do not belong on the covered list, and why this may deceive US buyers and sellers.
- The massive ADI promotional campaign of Hikvision from Oct to Dec, 2021.
- Revoking authorizations filed after March 12, 2021, when the FCC deemed Hikua a national security threat, and why this may balance concerns over disruption to US businesses and end-users with national security interests.
This is IPVM's third public comment on the FCC ban proposal. Our earlier FCC comments are also available below.
