This morning, the CBC reported that the RCMP - Canada's FBI - awarded a contract to Hytera last year to build and maintain communications infrastructure across the country. Hytera is NDAA banned in the US, and was charged by DOJ with 21 criminal counts over allegedly stealing information from Motorola.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau commented on the story this morning, saying it is too early to say how the government will respond but "obviously we have to ensure that it is explicitly spelled out that sensitive contracts that implicate issues of national security need to be provided to only reliable sources of procurement."
